The Smothered Ache
Travel to the Vault of Stone in Fractured Peaks to retrieve tools for Ayuzhan to engrave the runes.
The sixth quest in Season of The Construct. Unlike other vaults, this one is designed to be a maze full of traps. Players must race but also dodge their way through as they search for the tools. Spikes, fire, and monsters stand in their way and don't let up on the player. It is known for it's aggressive crowd control and obstacle count, posing as a challenge to even veteran players.

Enter the Quarry

Survive the Quarry for 30 seconds

Designer's Note
This quest was my personal favorite to do. The vault served as a gauntlet, forcing the player through while throwing all of the new season traps at them. My goal here was to in a way overwhelm the player. In the past I learned how Diablo IV was known for speedrunning, the traps and this season was intentionally to slow the player down. I wanted to make it more complex by using speed as a way to slow them down. I did this by putting them in the Quarry to survive then having various traps around the vault as they searched for the tools.
